Route 202 resurfacing underway
in Hunterdon County

(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced that Route 202 will be resurfaced in both directions from north of the Flemington Circle in Flemington to north of Greenwood Drive in Raritan, Hunterdon County.

NJDOT’s contractor, Arawak Paving Co., has begun preliminary operations to prepare the roadway for resurfacing this week. Route 202 carries two travel lanes in each direction. Resurfacing operations will require single lane closures on Route 202 in both directions during overnight and off-peak hours. One travel lane on Route 202 will be maintained in each direction at all times during construction. All work is weather dependent.

The $1.2 million project will mill and repave the roadway and shoulders along a 1.2 mile stretch of Route 202, as well as make curbing and guide rail improvements. Completion is scheduled for early 2012.
