NJDOT announces I-295 ramp closures this week
in Camden County
Major highway rehabilitation progresses in South Jersey

(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced a series of entrance and exit ramp closures along Interstate 295 in Lawnside and Barrington, Camden County next week to accommodate milling and final surface course paving operations on the mainline highway.

The following ramps will be closed through the duration of, or partly through, 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night on Monday, November 28 and Tuesday, November 29:

• I-295 southbound Exit 31 ramp to Woodcrest Station
• I-295 southbound Exit 30 ramp to Warwick Road
• I-295 southbound Exit 29 ramp to Copley Road
• Woodcrest Station on-ramp to I-295 southbound
• Woodcrest Station on-ramp to I-295 northbound

I-295 southbound motorists destined for Exits 31-29 during the ramp closures will be directed to the Exit 28 interchange (Route 168) to make a U-turn onto I-295 northbound to the corresponding exit from the northbound highway.

Woodcrest Station motorists destined for I-295 in either direction will use CR 561 to access the interstate highway.

NJDOT is rehabilitating an eight-mile stretch of I-295 in both directions between Route 45 (Exit 24) in Gloucester County and Haddonfield-Berlin Road (Exit 32) in Camden County. Construction began on the federally-funded project in June 2009 and is scheduled for final completion by summer 2012.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website for construction updates and real-time travel information.
