Democrat Road reopened over I-295
in Greenwich Township
NJDOT has replaced bridge deck on Gloucester County Route 673

(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced that the Democrat Road (CR 673) bridge deck replacement project over all lanes of Interstate 295 in Greenwich Township in Gloucester County has been completed and the roadway is reopened to traffic as of this afternoon.

Democrat Road had been closed to accommodate the reconstruction efforts since mid-July.

NJDOT’s contractor, Richard E. Pierson Construction, replaced the existing, structurally deficient bridge deck, parapets and sidewalk. The $1.65 million project is also resurfacing the road at both bridge approaches and some curb and guide rail upgrades are being made. The project is expected to wrap up in early 2013.

Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website for real-time travel information.
