Collings Avenue bridge reopened over Interstate 676
in Camden City
Bridge deck was reconstructed by NJDOT with detour
(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today that the reconstructed Collings Avenue (CR 630) bridge over Interstate 676 southbound in Camden City was reopened to traffic.
NJDOT’s contractor, South State, Inc., has completed the $1.5 million project that replaced the old, structurally deficient bridge deck and parapets, along with making some minor superstructure repairs. The roadway approaches on either end of the bridge have been resurfaced and some curb and guide rail upgrades were made.
In order to complete the work as efficiently as possible NJDOT utilized a full closure and detour of Collings Avenue at the bridge location. All travel lanes on Interstate 676 southbound were maintained below the overpass during peak period hours, utilizing traffic shifts.
