NJ HMFA Project Financing Tax Credit Program

P.L. 2025, c.111, signed into law on July 22, 2025, authorizes the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) to conduct tax credit auctions for certain housing projects. Awarded tax credits can be applied against New Jersey Corporation Business Tax or Insurance Premiums Tax and may be carried forward for up to seven privilege periods.

The Division of Taxation issues tax credit certificates and manages all assignments and transfers. For questions regarding assignments or transfers, call 609-292-7127.
