The historic Community House of Moorestown was built in 1926 and designed by Philadelphia architects, Karcher & Smith, in the English Gothic style. Benefactor Eldridge Reeves Johnson, founder of the Victor Talking Machine Company, provided $250,000 for the building’s construction at the request of the Moorestown Women’s Club. Town residents simultaneously endowed a permanent maintenance fund by donating $106,000. The Moorestown Community House has been the community’s center for civic, social, and recreational activity since it opened in 1926.
The 2025 Trust grant will help fund roof repairs to five dormer windows. The 2022 Trust grant helped fund the preparation of a Preservation Plan.
