Grant Award: $407,520 (2024)
Grant Recipient: Township of Wayne
County: Passaic
Municipality: Wayne Township

Built in 1706 and slightly altered sometime in the mid-1700s, the Van Duyne House retains its Dutch-influenced architectural characteristics. It served as a private residence until it was moved to its current location in 1974 when it began functioning as a house museum. Despite being moved, the house has retained a high level of architectural integrity. The Van Duyne House was originally listed on the State and National Register in 1971. When the building was moved in 1974, it was subsequently removed from the National Register. It was relisted on the State Register in its current location in 1976. The Van Duyne House is located on the same property as the Van Riper-Hopper House (aka Wayne Museum) which is also listed on the State and National Register.

The Trust grant will help fund the interior and exterior rehabilitation of the Mead-Van Duyne House including the addition of an ADA bathroom.
