Introducing a new application for unemployment insurance

Mistakes on an application can hold up your claim and delay payment. The new application helps reduce those mistakes so claims can be processed faster.
After you start a new claim, we'll ask if you want to "opt in" and try the new application. You don’t have to, though. For now, you can still choose the current one. We'll get your claim either way.
For now, you can choose which version of the application you want to use to apply for benefits. We’ll get your claim either way. When we make the final switch to the new application, you will no longer be able to choose to use the old one.
The new application is easier to use, so you’re less likely to make errors that could delay your claim. However, all claims are processed the same way once they are received, no matter which application you use.

No. Your personal information will be protected if you choose to use the new application.
If you choose not to confirm your identity when you apply, you may continue to file your UI claim but you will not receive payments until we confirm your identity through ID.me.
The new application can be used on any device, including a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop PC.
No. Once you start a new claim using the new application, do not stop and switch to the old one. Doing so will cause problems with your claim and delay payments you may be entitled to.
