The Risk Finance and Loss Control Unit specialize in analyzing the risk to State personnel and assets from a myriad of factors ranging from aircraft insurance to workplace safety. Our mission is to achieve the proper balance between anticipating and insuring identified risks, requiring departmental risk accountability and providing the tools and education for departments to lower the risk of injury and loss to State property.

The unit’s activities include review of pending legislation which may have an impact on the State’s risk profile and advising departments and agencies on risk and insurance issues. Whether it is insuring a canoe trip down the Delaware, borrowing an art exhibit, or obtaining coverage for undercover law enforcement agencies, the Risk Finance and Loss Control Unit provides the expertise to the New Jersey State Government. The unit also provides services to insure faithful performance of programs by the departments and agencies of government and vendors performing services on behalf of the State or performing services for the State.
