Roadway and Traffic Improvements
Guide rail parapet attachment at Route 18 southbound bridge over Conrail Railroad, Milepost 37.5
  • All lanes will be milled and resurfaced, with full reconstruction of the right lane in each direction to correct substandard cross slopes and pavement section.
  • Guide rail and concrete median barrier will be upgraded to current NJDOT standards.
  • Sidewalk improvements will complete missing sections and upgrade pedestrian facilities for ADA compliance.
  • Traffic signals and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) will be upgraded to current NJDOT standards for connectivity and central monitoring.
Drainage and Stormwater Management Improvements

  • Existing and deteriorated corrugated metal pipes will be replaced with reinforced concrete pipe that meet current standards
  • Lateral drainage crossings will reconstruct 42 existing crossings and add 4 new crossings
  • Longitudinal pipe runs will be replaced in their entirety
  • 2 new bioretention basins will be constructed
  • 2 wet ponds will be reconstructed
  • 1 detention basin will be rehabilitated
  • 3 new Manufactured Treatment Devices will be installed
Drainage and Stormwater Management Improvements
  • Over 11,000 feet of 24-inch gas main to be reconstructed.
  • Over 24,000 feet of 8-inch, 12-inch, 16-inch and 20-inch water mains to be reconstructed, including all connections and services.
  • Miscellaneous power and telecommunication poles and wires will be relocated to mitigate project conflicts.
