Public
Involvement
The New Jersey Department
of Transportation (NJDOT)
is committed to developing
transportation improvements
that best balance transportation
needs, the environment, community
concerns and cost. One of
the most critical elements
related to the success of
a project is the relationship
that NJDOT develops with
the community.
A Public Information Center
(PIC) was held on December
5, 2000 where alternatives were presented and the
public expressed its concerns
at the meeting. As a result,
revisions were made and
a scaled-back alternative
was presented at the second
PIC which was held on May
30, 2001.
On January
26, 2006 (pdf
149k),
at Netcong Borough Hall
at a third PIC, a refined
Initially Preferred Alternative
(IPA) (pdf
2.7m) was presented and
the public had an opportunity
to review the exhibits
of the proposed project,
ask questions and discuss
issues with NJDOT staff
members.
