Whether you are a new hire or have been a member of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) or the Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) for a while, this class will give you a basic understanding of your pension benefits. Topics covered are enrollment criteria, membership tiers, the Member Benefits Online System (MBOS), beneficiary designation, group life insurance coverage, purchasing service credit, pension loans, retirement formulas and types, and withdrawing. This webinar is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes long and includes a Q&A period.

DCRP Account Overview for Employees: This seminar is exclusively about the Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP). The session provides information about DCRP eligibility, contributions rates, the investment funds that are available within the DCRP, the Goalmaker investment allocation tool, withdrawals, and the overall rules of the plan. We also take a look at Prudential’s DCRP website and how to process all changes such as adding a beneficiary and processing a withdrawal online. Sessions are approximately 45 minutes in duration and conclude with a question and answer period.

Retirement Planning seminars and webinars take a step-by-step approach to the retirement process and explain what happens after you submit your application. We explain your benefits, survivor options, group life insurance, loan repayment provisions, and the taxability of your pension. There is also a brief discussion of your health benefits coverage in retirement. The classroom session is approximately 3 hours in duration. The webinar is 1 ½ - 2 hours in duration. Both sessions include a Q&A period.

This webinar is designed to show PERS and TPAF members how to do a retirement estimate using the Member Benefits Online System (MBOS) and the website Long-Range Calculator. We will produce a sample estimate with pension payment options available to PERS and TPAF members. This webinar is approximately 15-20 minutes in duration and is followed by a brief Q&A period.
