Federal Uncertainty Threatens Reliability of New Jersey SNAP and WIC Programs
As the Federal Government shutdown continues, Governor Murphy provides an update that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are currently guaranteed through October 31, 2025 and the NJ Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC) through November 10, 2025. The State will continue to provide updates if the those timeframes can be extended. Additional information and resources are detailed in this press release.
Attorney General Platkin Demands Answers from Trump Administration Before Nutritional Programs End During a Federal Shutdown
On October 24, 2025, AG Platkin joined a coalition of 23 attorneys general in a letter to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education and Acting Associate Administrator for the SNAP requesting additional clarity and information on plans if the program pauses November 1, 2025 due to the continuing federal government shutdown.
