Section 12006(a) of the 21st Century Cures Act requires that states implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for all Medicaid personal care and home health care services delivered in the home.
EVV is a technology-based system used to confirm that home care or personal care services funded by Medicaid actually occur. EVV is a critical tool for maintaining compliance with federal and state Medicaid requirements while safeguarding the quality and integrity of home and community-based services.
