Governor Murphy has issued Executive Order No. 367, ordering the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the State of New Jersey shall be flown at half-staff at all State departments, offices, agencies, instrumentalities, and all public buildings during appropriate hours on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in recognition and in mourning of the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001, including those from our home State.
This Order shall take effect immediately.

Since December 2015, NJSA 52:3-12.1 requires the Office of the Secretary of State create and maintain an electronic notification system alerting the public when US and State flags are to be flown at half-staff.
