Monday, May 29, 2023, per NJSA 36:1-1 for Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of Memorial Day, fly the United States flag at half staff from sunrise until NOON, and then raise it to full height from noon to sundown.

Since December 2015, NJSA 52:3-12.1 requires the Office of the Secretary of State create and maintain an electronic notification system alerting the public when US and State flags are to be flown at half-staff.
