This September 11 marks the 25th anniversary. The NJ Governor’s Office of Volunteerism is joining 911day to make it the biggest nationwide day of service yet.
In 50 cities nationwide, volunteers will come together to pack 17 million+ meals for individuals and families facing food insecurity. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for community members ready to show up, roll up their sleeves, and help ensure the success of this nationwide event.

Join the 9/11 Day Event Support Team and help make our Meal Pack possible.
Location: MetLife Stadium - East Rutherford, NJ
Age requirement: Event Support Team volunteers must be 18 or older.

Volunteer Shifts:

  • Tuesday, September 8, 12 PM - 4 PM (Set Up Day)
  • Wednesday, September 9 (Event Day) Shift 1: 7:30 AM - 12 PM, Shift 2: 10:30 AM - 3 PM

  • New Jersey’s Volunteer Numbers Are On The Rise! From 1.4 million to 1.9 million volunteers, NJ’s Volunteers are making a difference in your community!

    Every two years, AmeriCorps partners with the U.S. Census Bureau to take the pulse of our nation’s civic health. The 2023 survey looks at many forms of civic engagement between September 2022 and 2023.
    In New Jersey:

    • 1,910,895 formal volunteers contributed 104,768,245 hours of service through organizations worth an estimated $3.7 billion.
    • 25.7 percent of residents formally volunteered through organizations.
    • 22.8 percent of residents belonged to an organization.
    • 57.1 percent of residents donated $25 or more to charity.
