Twenty-four Programs to Receive Funding to focus on Hispanic entrepreneurship, Citizen and Integration Direct Services, Workforce Development and Other Innovative Initiatives

 

TRENTON, NJ – Reaffirming the Christie Administration’s commitment to a vibrant and inclusive economic development policy focused on economic empowerment and broadening key workforce development initiatives, the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development (“CHPRD”) today announced its Fiscal Year 2012 grants recipients. Statewide, twenty New Jersey Hispanic Community Based Organizations (HCBOs) will share $975,000 in funds available for the fiscal year.

This year’s grants awards will provide statewide HCBOs with the tools necessary to work towards encouraging Hispanic entrepreneurship, citizenship and integration direct services, workforce training support, and other innovative initiatives across New Jersey.

“We have made great strides in expanding economic opportunity for all of New Jersey’s citizens, and today marks another important step in our ongoing progress,” said Governor Christie. “The Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development will lead the way in providing Hispanic students and families with the skills and training required to succeed professionally while strengthening communities statewide.”

The CHPRD views grant recipients as essential partners in the delivery of programs and services that create and sustain public value to the Hispanic communities across New Jersey. It sees the funding it provides as an investment in organizations and the people they serve. As a custodian of public funds, CHPRD insists on maintaining the highest standards of accountability both in its operations and in those of the organizations in which it invests.

The CHPRD also works to empower New Jersey’s growing Hispanic community through its funding opportunities, inclusion in policy development and engaging the community in a dialogue to cultivate its professional and leadership growth.

September 7, 2011 TRENTON, N.J. – Reafirmando el compromiso de la Administración del Gobernador Christie a una política de desarrollo dinámico e incluyente del desarrollo económico centrado en el empoderamiento económico y la ampliación de las iniciativas principales del desarrollo personal, el Centro Hispano de Investigación, Desarrollo y Política ("CHPRD") anuncio hoy los beneficiarios de los subvenciones del año fiscal 2012. A nivel estatal, veinte organizaciones comunitarias de base hispano (HCBOs) de Nueva Jersey compartirán $975,000 dólares de los fondos disponibles para el año fiscal.

Las subvenciones de este ano dará a nivel estatal HCBOs con las herramientas necesarias para trabajar para fomentar el espíritu empresarial hispano, servicios directos de ciudadanía e integración, apoyo a la capacitación laboral, y otras iniciativas innovadoras en todas partes de Nueva Jersey.

"Hemos hecho grandes progresos en la expansión de oportunidades económicas para todos los ciudadanos de Nueva Jersey, y el día de hoy marca otro paso importante en nuestro progreso ya en curso", dijo el Gobernador Christie. "El Centro Hispano de Investigación, Desarrollo y Política guiara el camino en la prestación de las habilidades y la formación necesaria para tener éxito profesional para los estudiantes hispanos y sus familias, y a la misma vez, fortaleciendo las comunidades en todo el estado."

El CHPRD vea beneficiarios de subvenciones como socios esenciales en la ejecución de los programas y servicios que crean y sostienen el valor público a las comunidades hispanas a través de Nueva Jersey. CHPRD considera que la financiación que se proporciona es como una inversión en las organizaciones y las personas que ellas sirven. Como custodio de los fondos públicos, CHPRD insiste en mantener los más altos estándares de rendición de cuentas tanto en sus operaciones y en los de las organizaciones en las que invierte.

El CHPRD también trabaja para empoderar a la creciente comunidad hispana de Nueva Jersey a través de sus oportunidades de financiación, la inclusión en el desarrollo de políticas y la participación de la comunidad en un diálogo para cultivar su desarrollo profesional y crecimiento de liderazgo.
