New Jersey Business Action Center to Host "Resources for Growth" Event in Cumberland County

Trenton, NJ – September 10, 2024 - The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC), in partnership with the New Jersey Small Business Development Center, is pleased to announce its upcoming "Resources for Growth" networking and resource event for small businesses. Scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2024, the event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rowan College Southern Campus in Vineland.

The "Resources for Growth" event is a key initiative by NJBAC designed to connect small business owners and entrepreneurs with state agencies and business organizations. The event aims to provide valuable insights into various financing options, incentive programs, technical assistance, and services that can drive business growth and success. With participation from nearly 50 state agencies and community partners, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations with representatives from:

  • New Jersey Business Action Center
  • New Jersey Economic Development Authority
  • NJ Small Business Development Center
  • Department of the Treasury
  • Department of Labor and Workforce Development
  • Regional Chambers of Commerce
  • Other state agencies and organizations

"This event highlights our dedication to supporting New Jersey's small business community, the backbone of our economy," said Lt. Governor Tahesha Way, who oversees NJBAC as New Jersey’s Secretary of State. "By hosting events like 'Resources for Growth,' we are securing the economic health of our state and building a foundation for a prosperous future."

Melanie Willoughby, Executive Director of NJBAC, emphasized the event’s role in simplifying access to support for businesses. "Small business owners are often overwhelmed by lengthy to-do lists," she noted. "Our 'Resources for Growth' event is designed to eliminate barriers and make it easier for businesses to discover available support, all in one convenient location."

The event is open to both start-ups and established businesses. Attendees will have ample time to network with agencies and learn about a variety of topics, including financing, contracting, certification, hiring, and energy rebates.

The New Jersey Business Action Center serves as the State's liaison to the business community, offering free information, services, and resources across various areas such as business registration, financial programs, regulatory compliance, property selection, workforce training, and more. NJBAC comprises multiple offices, including Small Business, Business Advocacy, Export Promotion, State Planning, and the Cannabis Training Academy.
