The State Archives offers several alternatives allowing you to obtain reproductions of our materials. Please note that repro options are always dependent upon the condition of the item. Fragile items in need of conservation or available on microfilm might not be reproducible in their original form. Consult our Guide to Reproduction and Research Services, Policies and Fees for general information about our policies and fees.
Researchers can order copies of documents through our Search the Collections page. The Archives will provide the best copy available. We cannot guarantee image quality (due to the condition of the originals), nor refund photocopy and search fees.
Any original record accessioned (legally owned) by the New Jersey State Archives can be certified by us. Materials that we own only in microfilm, printed, or other published form cannot be certified. There is a $25.00 fee per document to certify a record, in addition to copy and research fees. Additional copy and certification fees will apply to additional certified copies of the same document.
Please note in the “Additional Information” field in our order forms that you need a certified copy of the record being requested. We will email you and invoice for the additional fees after the search has been completed and we verify that we own the original record.
